The Glenfarclas 1980, 48.7% Single Cask #3164, Bottled 2005 (OB for MWSoA)

This was the Society’s 2nd Convention bespoke single cask, natural cask strength malt in 2005. It was selected by Glenfarclas’ MD John Grant and bottled with MWSoA branding. Many thanks to all involved for making our first bespoke bottling a reality. BTW we love it: the sootiness and the toasted nuts along with the fruit is just sublime. It’s a Masterclass in a Glass about when direct-fired stills meet very decent sherrywood. It’s one of those whiskies that become better regarded and more legendary over time.
